Objectives

This module aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of the role of mathematics in the application of economic and accounting theory.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module students will be able to:

Syllabus

The module will cover:
(1) differentiation;
(2) optimisation;
(3) integral calculus;
(4) economic dynamics;
(5) further applications in mathematics and statistics.

Private study

Students will be required to engage with the lecture and tutorial material and in particular solve independently problems which will deepen their understanding of the material.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students will be required to complete periodic online tests and will also be given the opportunity to attempt a mock examination. Feedback received from tests is intended to help students measure their progress on the module and to assist them with exam preparations.
